How to join
The New
Symphony
Orchestra is now soliciting players for all
parts! Please feel free to
contact us and arrange for an audition.
- First, observe a rehearsal.
We welcome you to visit one of our rehearsals at any time and
experience the orchestra's atmosphere firsthand.
- Rehearsal schedule
Time: Every Saturday evening from 6 to 9 p.m.
Place: Ro-on Jujo Kaikan (JR Higashi Jujo Station or JR Jujo Station),
as well as other locations.
Extra rehearsals occasionally held on Sundays and holidays.
A three-day intensive training camp is held twice a year.
- Dues
Admission fee: 5,000 yen (a one-time fee)
Monthly dues: 5,000 yen
Performance fee (including ticket duty): 16,000 yen
- Auditions
A simple audition by prior arrangement is required for joining the
orchestra. Click here for a list of audition
pieces for each part (in Japanese).
- Parts needed
In principle, positions are available for all parts.
Although there is a limit on the number of wind instruments, auditions
will be given even if the capacity is already full. However, the
audition may be more severely judged in this case. Capacity: Fl,
Ob, Cl, Fg, Tp, Tb = limit of 6; Hr = limit of 8; Tu = limit of

- Babysitting service
To facilitate the needs of parents with small children, babysitting
services are provided at each rehearsal and at performances for a
nominal fee.
